Three days after selling my Mars Orange 1972 CT90 K4 I’ve come to realize I’ve probably made a huge mistake. Anyone else ever get the feeling like you’ve lost a piece of you from selling a vehicle?

I still have a 79 CT90 and a 81 CT110, but they’re more “trail ready” (more beat up and less pretty), but I’ve come to realize this was my favorite child of the three siblings.

Hopefully I can find a CB160 in enough time to remedy the empty space in my garage and soul.

So long gorgeous!

We have a gold ‘70 CT70 that’s been in our family, and thrashed hard for decades. My father nearly sold it before I realized he had it for sale. I almost died when I found out. After I saved it, he decided to restore it completely after realizing how much it meant to me.

I love our old ‘70 CT70 so much, I bought one of those cheap DAX/CT70 china clone bikes to actually ride, even though the original can take pretty much anything.

I love those, and the CT-70.

I wish I could go to my local dealer and buy a new CT-70 right now, in fact. Sigh.

I’ve got a ‘70 K2 sitting in storage right now that I’ve been contemplating taking out and restoring. Bought it in college and rode it ever day through finishing grad school, they’re marvelous machines for jaunting around town on. Beautiful bike, man, making me think bad thoughts about getting mine squared away...

That was not a smart move on your part. I love these things! I’ve been looking for one for months but around here everyone thinks they are worth $2,500 bucks in shitty shape.

Grab a Chilton’s repair manual, join the CT 90 Owners facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/8137368… ), and bookmark dratv.com.

The bikes are incredibly easy to work on, even if you have no experience with bikes. Just make sure to get an impact driver to remove stuck Philips head screws or you’ll be in a world of pain.

Thanks for making me feel more terrible! My thought process was to use the funds from it’s sale to pick up one of these:

The problems is a CL90 or a CB90 are extremely rare compared to the CT90. There’s only two in the Seattle “area” at the moment, and both are about three house away.

Search craigslist! They’re everywhere and since they’re so small they typically don’t have a lot of miles. And also because they’re so small, they are not often left outside for years like many other old motorcycles.
